My Story
This will be making a fictional story, a book called “The thing about jellyfish” has inspired this, you may think I probably use autocorrect well I will try to refrain myself from using it. This story is about a girl who has anger issues and how she controls it while continuing living. And I hope you like it. This is for english subject
My life
Today, is my eleventh birthday, everyone gets excited right well because they are older and they are close to teens,well not me i’m that person who is not happy on birthdays why? Well let’s start from introduction. Hi my name is Sherry Dawson, I live in Canada. I have one sibling, my older sister’s name is Shannon Dawson she is 21 years old,I have a golden retriever name sunny he is special I’ll tell you later,but anyways I’m special too. I have IED(Intermittent explosive disorder)or you can call it impulse-control disorder, that means I can get angry very easily so when I get angry I break stuff and scream at the top of my lungs,and sometimes try to pull my hair, this happened when I was around 5-6 years old, it first happened at home when I broke a glass,I was so mad at myself I screamed my mother ran down stairs and saw me jumping like crazy it was a Friday,and no school my sister at that time had camping so it was me and my mom,so after my tantrum she took me to the doctor then I was diagnosed, so that happened. Hey do you remember when i told you that my dog was special well he is supposed to keep me calm whenever I get angry, he lets me pet him which calms me down.
Dr.Jessie
I often visit the therapist often every week Thursday and Friday her name is Dr.Jessie she is my third therapist the other two couldn’t handle me they were afraid even if it was their job to help people.But,Dr.Jessie was patient I started to like her,every session she would give me a balloon filed with slime and I would bring it home and squish it whenever I get angry,the reason why she gives it every week is because i would always break it and the sticky stuff comes out.Every session is different because we would meditate do yoga and she would give me some sweets and at the end of the day she would revise what I improved and what I need to fix.
Friends
I only have one friend, her name is Elly Cross, she is such a chatter box, I don’t even know why she wanna be friends withe me anyways, the first time I met her was in second semester in grade four , she was a new student last year she sat in-front of me. She always sit next to me at lunch and she would talk about herself and ask questions, honestly I didn’t really care. I told D.r Jessie and she said it was a good opportunity for me so I agreed. At first I thought she didn’t care about me, but one day I asked her ” Why are you hanging out withe me? She answered back those words shocked me ” why,because we are friends silly what for.”She gave a warm smile at me, I thought she was sticking to me cuz she pity me I smiled back.Then Elly gave me a warm hug after that Elly said “Now,let’s get some ice-cream.” she grabbed my right wrist and started running to the the store, I was a bit pissed off a bit but, I had more of a warm fuzzy feeling as we ran while the sun was shining on are skin.
Party preparations
Today was Saturday, that means my birthday and when i woke up this morning and went down the stairs I could hear my parents preparing my birthday party.When my feet hear the floor, my parents greeted me and said happy birthday. I obviously I am not happy, but for the sake of my parent a gave them a kiss and said thank you and shuffled to the fridge and got some bread and put them in the toaster, my mother squatted down and said “Sherry baby, I know you don’t want to celebrate your birthday, but can you do it please.” My mind was thinking carefully, it kept on repeating “should I or should I not.” but looking at my mom just made me even more guilty, I mean my sister is coming back home this afternoon with her boyfriend and my grandparents and two cousins are coming too, and let’s not forget Elly yesterday she promised an awesome gift, I can’t let her down. Then suddenly I was getting frustrated, I couldn’t stop breathing heavily, then sunny came and was bringing my squishy ball and gave it to me, then a gave sunny a pat in the head. So I gave my mom a reply “Ok, we can celebrate it my mom gave me a hug and dad taped my shoulder and said “Well, now that you agreed what theme do you want for your birthday?” he asked. A theme, I never thought about that, I thought long and hard and said ” I want outer space.” although i was not a fan of space I never knew a single thing about space, but what i do know is that space is always quiet no sounds,no movement,nobody just silence and i like silence I don’t need to talk to anyone to scared them with my angry face, I don’t need to hear a sound that would make me go crazy about it. My dad gave me a look, his eyes was a bit surprised, because I never talked about space then he told me “Ok sweet cherry, if thats what you want your paps will get it for ya.” then he walked to my mom discussing about the plans, my birthday was gonna be held here so that means they need to go shopping and I don’t like shopping either.Because when we go shopping I might want something and my parents will say no and I will start a heavy tantrum, and most of the shops already banned me so I couldn’t go to some shops,luckily I will be staying at Elly’s house until 12:00am then her mom will bring us to my house and the party will start. Right now it’s 8:51 so I need to get ready by 9:10.
The ride to Elly’s house
When I turned back at the toaster with my toast sticking out with the sides burned I put it on my pate and put blueberry jam and ate quickly, then I ran upstairs to my room and sunny followed then yanked some clothes from my closet, grabbed a towel and ran to the bathroom spent 5 minutes then got my anime bag and stuff some snacks,phone charger,books, my weird squishy ball and sunny’s treats and plastic bag. Then zipped up my bag and ran downstairs while sunny was tailing me, I put on my sneakers and looked at the window and saw Elly waving at me in front of their car before I left,my parents hugged me mom said ” be safe and remember…” I interrupted her off and said “Yah mom, I know control my breathing, count to ten while petting sunny.” she gave a sigh and replied “My baby girl has grown up.” my dad kissed me on my head “Sweet cherry, better hurry up now.” he reminded me I hugged them both last time, grabbed sunny’s leash and waved goodbye, then entered the car. When we entered the car, Elly was petting Sunny then her mom greeted me and gave me a card, then I looked at Elly she noticed that and said “Don’t worry Sherry, when we get to my house your gift will be there.” I gave her a question look, she giggled I asked her “What’s so funny?” she replied ” Your face, it looked like a silly grandma” then she made a face , I smiled while hugging sunny she asked “Well what do I look like?” she inflated her mouth while crossing her eyes with her puffed lips then I said “You look like a puffer fish.” she laughed, her mom told us we were here I opened the door and pulled sunny by the leash then Elly followed.
Elly’s house
When we entered her house she pulled to her room and before we entered she said “Remember this gift is the best gift I’ve ever made and special to my best friend do I make myself clear.” I nodded,then she opened the door what stood in front of me shocked me.She knew I love fire flies so she caught 10 fireflies and put 5 each in two jars her room light was off, so you could see the glowing insects when she turned the lights on she walked to the two jars and gave one to me the she said “I knew how much you like fire flies,so last week I went to a place that had a lot of fire flies so I caught some for you and me.” I hugged her and said “Thank you” she rubbed her head “Aww, shucks it’s all I could do for.” and gave me a smile “Now, let’s brush your hair you have nice long hair but you never brush it.” It was true I originally I had straight hair, but now I Lost the motivation to do it. We spent 2 hours playing with sunny watching anime and eating snacks it was fun.
Comfort
When we were laughing inside the room, We heard a knock on the door and a voice “Girls, get ready we have to go now.” Her mom told us, Elly replied ” 5 minutes !” I started getting nervous, I began shaking and started sweating. Elly noticed and comforted me, I did not look at her in the eye, I’m afraid I might snap at her. She said ” hey, cherry it’s ok I’m with you if your afraid hold me and sunny tight ok?” I nodded looking at my right. She went to get her stuff and I went to put sunny’s leash, when we both finished we went to the car I was so nervous, suddenly i heard a vibration on my pocket it was my phone my dad send me the pictures of the party theme. When we hopped of the car I was holding Elly’s hand soo tight, I think i made a red marking but she beard with it and sunny was barking making everyone aware we had arrived.
Party Started
When we rang the door bell my dad greeted me first then everyone else, It was so lively in here I didn’t like it. I took out the fireflies from my bag and went upstairs silently, sunny followed me I put the jar of fireflies on my desk staring at them. Suddenly i heard someone called my name I shut the door and rushed down my dad asked me where I went I replied ” I um..went to the bathroom.” then my mom brought the cake with the candles she said “Well, make a wish.” I gave some thought and finally thought of one, I shut my eyes and wished “I wish..I wish, I never part with Elly.” And blew the candles.
A Unexpected arrival
After that everyone left the last one to leave was Elly. She gave me a hug and asked ” What, was the wish?” I gave her a look that said secret, she giggled and went to the car, with one last wave she went away. My dad was packing up and my mom was in their bedroom speaking on the phone while I was standing in front of the door, my dad noticed and told me “Sweet cherry, what are you doing how about you go up stairs in your room?” I nodded and went up stairs, sunny was with my mom so I was alone. Suddenly there was a doorbell I rushed down and was standing on the steps. My sister came she was so late it was already 5:48, sunny came rushing and barking around her, my mom patted me on my shoulder. Then Shannon noticed me and gave me a smile,her boyfriend was bringing the last luggage from the cab, my dad was helping him. When they both came back her boyfriend Carlos gave me a strange look and whispered at my sister then she nodded, I wonder what they were whispering about then he walked up to me and said ” Hi, I’m Carlos, I heard you are special.” I grunted and went behind my dad. My mom said ” Oh, sorry Carlos she is always liked this.”
Thoughts
I went upstairs Sunny ran after me. I entered and grab the squishy ball and immediately face flat on my bed while squishing the squishy sunny jumped on my bed and laid down beside me I turned around facing the ceiling, I had dull eyes, my mind was blank. I got up and went to the computer and played games, and thought again. Did my sister change, but she was so bright like the sun, she promised that she would help me. Did she lied.
School And The New Kid
Today is the first day of school, now I’m in grade five. I herd there is a new student, I’m not ready but Elly is, this mourning when i was walking to school she ran at me and hugged me. She said ” OMG, Sherry! there is a new student coming today!” Shouting at my ear then she went on blabbering ” I heard the new kid is a girl, oh I hope we can be friends, then it’ll be a trio.” I had no intention with making another friend then ill be a double nuisance. When we reached school sherry checked will we be in the same class, but let me tell ya something. The school is aware of my condition ad my mom ask the school to make me and Elly in the same class forever, so I’m 100% sure we are in the same class just don’t tell Elly. After she checked she went back to me and said ” yay we are in the same class this year.” I gave her a smile and went to our class room, when we all gathered our seats, obviously I sat next to Elly and She knew the new student was in this class. when everyone was here the teacher presented the student her name was Beth. A girl with big glasses, braided hair, wearing a bunny hair clip on her bangs, I knew she was the next target to the bullies. You know in every drama show there will always be some 3 girls that are bratty spoiled girly-girls, well we have those in here.
Bullies
Before in grade 2 when I was seven, I was also targeted, it was in the playground i was alone in the sand pit, then 3 girls popped up and started saying means stuff about me like ” well, well look at this girl so ugly always wear a shirt and pants.” and other means stuff, it was true from a young age I don’t usually wear ink dresses or pink shoes, at that time I already started my tantrums and it was also that time I couldn’t control it, so I got up and started shouting back. They were so scared all 3 of them started crying their lungs out, and you know whats next, teachers came put us in the teachers lounge called our parents, I was framed and suspended for 1 day. from that day on they never picked on me ever again but they secretly call me a monster. They never bullied Elly because they know she hangs out with me. Elly never knew they bullied people, the reason why is because they do it secretly and they do it in different locations, and even if you try to tall the teachers they can’t help because the leader of the bully group named Britney her dad is the shareholder of the school and is richer than the principal so he can just cover it up for her.
The Quest To Find Beth
After class Elly dragged me to talk to Beth which I’m afraid too because I might scare her. But she wasn’t in her seat she was gone, Elly was sad but stayed positive ” Aw, she’s gone. Well next time at lunch.” luckily she doesn’t know where she is or else we’re in big trouble, I suspected those 3 bullies already got her to one of their locations around the school to bully her. She asked ” Hey, Cherry do you know where she went?” “I have a guess.” shoot I said without thinking I let my guard down, in a second she was smiling and said “Really take me there!” and started dragging me. Let me tell you a secret about Elly, once she is full of joy she will grab the opportunity to get it, so that means even when I’ll try to talk her out of it, she is persistent. I gave a sigh ” She is probably at the old girls locker room.” Elly gave a thought ” Why would she be there?” I shrugged my shoulders and replied ” Maybe she lost her way to the play-ground.” She dragged me to the old abandoned locker room. You would all ask how I think she is in the abandoned locker room, well I wanted some privacy so I went there but before I entered I heard them, they were bullying a previous student. I didn’t tell anyone because no one is allowed the abandoned locker room anyway, if I tell the teachers are gonna ask why I’m there in the first place and I’m bad at lying so it was hopeless that kid left the school now, I mean obviously I was angry but I was holding it in. Well in a blink of an eye we reached the old locker room.
The Heros
When we reached there no one was there, so my guess was probably wrong Elly gave a sigh and we turned back before we exit, we heard a scream, both of us immediately ran to the toilets at the back. We saw the two girls pulling her hair and pouring a bucket of water and Britney just videoing it all. Elly grabbed her attention and ran to Beth, while me I was shacking I couldn’t control myself. Britney saw me and try to escape but my inner me was unleashed, I stopped her when she was heading the exit and gave her a look. She was terrified she was walking backwards until I pined her to the wall I punched the wall beside her head and said ” LEAVE OR THINGS GET WORSE .” she nodded and ran with the other two girls. Elly was helping Beth to the nurse’s office, I told her I’ll go to the teachers, she gave a reassuring smile, I nodded then left. When I reached the teachers lounge I told Mr.Patrick what happened, he called Britney’s mom the strict parent.
