Geo Tour (some of these I forgot, so I use google for some information. sorry.)

Welcome to the Geo tour, today I went to the U.P National Institute of Geological Sciences . I learned about rocks, fossils, and how to detect natural disasters.

Here we learned how crystals are made differently.

A mineral is naturally occurring inorganic homogeneous solid. Crystal system is described only in terms of the unit cell.

Color is generally caused by the chemical elements involved while the crystal is being formed. Luster is the way light interacts with the surface of a crystal, rock, or mineral.

minerals, minerals are found in rocks and also in our daily lives.

Here are some minerals that we use in our daily lives, example pencil lead.

Here they let us look at some rocks that we are allowed to touch.

What you all saw was gems if you watch Steven Universe then you may know that the writer used actual gem names.

this is the rock cycle it shows how a rock can transform itself from the environment and the duration of time.

Now we are in the dinosaur fossils.

these are real fossils and also dinosaur manure eww.

This is a real dinosaur egg obviously it’s already dead.

Dinosaur eggs are almost the same size as ostrich egg.

Here has some dinosaur bones and mini replicas.

This here is dead anemone and maybe jelly fish.

Some scientist say we started off as fish or like crabs.

Some people use this as necklace.

Here is a geologist wear and tools.

So here we are looking at rocks dug from the mines some of them has a little bit of gold.

We are learning what machines they use for mining.

The poster shows the major natural disasters in the Philippines.

Some activities for the kids.

We are practicing on what to do if there is a disaster.

Here the teacher show us how to mine(not for real).

Thank you bye bye.
