Volleyball Tune up training and Tournament

This was in March 2023, my volleyball club has this tournament with its other branches and some guests at the end of the month when our lessons have finished, there are 3 branches, Antipolo, Pasig, and Quezon city. I am in the Quezon city branch each branch learns the same thing but have different activities depending on the coaches, for the month of March we learned set pass, moving set, serve form and emergency moves, what are those moves you may ask?

Set pass and moving set are the same form, but one requires you to stand still while the other is when you need to move, I think you can tell which one is which. Serve form is when we serve the ball at the start of the game, the coaches would want to practice our serve since all of us would get a chance to serve. And lastly, emergency moves are for during the game and the ball almost comes to a halt between both sides so you either spike or drop stop.

We start our mornings doing stretches, running laps, stretching our legs, and our arms. Then we do activities, depending on the level you are at you have different activities such as the beginners, like me, do much more easier and the basic activities, while the more intermediate activities get slightly harder, and the prodigy almost shares the same exercises and activities as the intermediate. And when its around the end of the lesson we have a mini match against each other, its almost everyone’s favorites.

Now let me tell you about the day of the tune up and tournament, we had the tune up at Quezon and the tournament in Pasig. So in Pasig we played with the quest team from other camps, we won in some rounds and loss some at the same time, overall we had good sportsmanship and enjoyed the game. Now for the tournament, during the tournament all the branches of the camp were there from Pasig and Antipolo, Pasig is the biggest branch with a lot of enrollees so there are two teams for Pasig. We went up first and won, we had to win all 4 matches to enter the finals or at least 3 wins, and we did won 3 out of 4 rounds which brought us to the finals.

During the finals was obviously the most pressuring one, its was us QC vs Pasig, we had won the first couple of rounds first but lost a few slowly, Pasig made a comeback near the end and we lost. So Pasig 1st place, Quezon City 2nd. At the end of the games we receive our rewards and end the event, although we didn’t win there are some individual rewards and I got the most improved player in my category. Overall I enjoyed my experience from the tournament and I will join again for sure!
