Visiting Intramuros
When we arrived to Intramuros the whole area was like I was in another country, like in Spain, oh wait this area was influenced by the Spanish, when we were colonized by them. When first entering the place you see a nice green field where people had picnics or pictures. Following that we went to the bridge which let us enter the place.
You can see a lot old broken down buildings, because during World war 2 a lot of soldiers use the buildings as a base or a hideout, so a lot of the buildings have been severely damaged or destroyed completely. Some of the builds were rebuilt or restored. Beside some old buildings there will be a sign talking about what happened to the building or the origins of it. A couple of the buildings were prison cells which held Rizal. In one of the buildings, you can go inside and see some Lego buildings of the churches around the place made by students, which were very pretty by the way.
When you go upstairs you can see the nice view of the city, and a giant bust sculpture of Rizal. Then there is a path that takes you back to the start of the place, we went to another old open building which showed pictures of how the Americans helped us during World war, you can see in some of the walls that there are bullet holes ,the contrast of old damaged brick beside the slightly lighter toned brick around the building. So much history in this place and so much has changed over time, the mixing of the modern cars and horse carriages, the tall skyscrapers and small old buildings seems so cool to me.
When it was getting dark we found a place to eat, it was really pretty the architecture, the buildings were well kept and looks authentic. Later, it was time to go home, the place was really pretty, so I enjoyed my time there.
