Atoms

In my science I learned about atoms, atoms are the smallest things on earth, they are the building blocks for everything, we are made of atoms, water is made of atoms, air is made up of atoms too. There are different kinds of atoms, we have a oxygen atom, iron atom, hydrogen atom,etc.

I made a atom model, I chose the nitrogen atom, since it was kinda easy, I used ballon sticks, glue gun, air dry clay and string. I used the glue gun to stick the ballon sticks in a circle. One bigger and one smaller. Then I used the clay and made the nucleus, the nucleus has 7 protons and 7 neutrons, I then made 7 electrons For the outer rings, 5 electrons on the bigger ring and 2 on the smaller ring. I used the sting to add the nucleus and the smaller ring and I was done! The nitrogen atom is complete.

nitrogen (N), It was first discovered and isolated by Scottish physician Daniel Rutherford in 1772. It is a colourless, odourless, tasteless gas that is the most plentiful element in Earth’s atmosphere and is a constituent of all living matter. Nitrogen is important to the chemical industry. It is used to make fertilisers, nitric acid, nylon, dyes and explosives. It is also 75% of the air we breathe.
